Ongoing & Past Projects

  • In December 2021, the Chippewas of The Thames First Nation (COTTFN) engaged KLB Consulting to conduct an Economic Assessment focused on tourism as a development opportunity for their Heritage Hub. The assessment aimed to support self-sufficient economic development and cultural revitalization through cultural tourism. KLB Consulting evaluated how tourism could enhance both economic growth and the preservation of the Nation’s cultural heritage.

  • In collaboration with Kodi Deleary, KLB Consulting helped strategically map out sponsorship and philanthropy opportunities for COTTFN's Heritage Hub. KLB Consulting played a crucial role in crafting a comprehensive strategy aimed at identifying and securing potential sponsors and support. This initiative is designed to support the economic development of the Nation through diverse revenue generation avenues for the Hub. By leveraging KLB Consulting's strategic approach, COTTFN is well-positioned to advance the development of the Heritage Hub, ensuring its sustainability and impact on preserving and reviving Aanishinabek culture.

  • KLB Consulting hosted "The Power of Feminist Economics" course, designed to empower Indigenous women through entrepreneurship. This course focused on teaching the principles of feminist economics and how they can be leveraged to drive successful business ventures. Participants gained valuable insights and skills to harness the power of entrepreneurship for economic and personal growth.

  • KLB Consulting developed a website for the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation's (COTTFN) Heritage Hub. This site is designed to inform visitors about the Hub's mission to preserve and revive Aanishinabek culture and Indigenous ways of knowing and being. It serves as a platform for community members and visitors to learn about COTTFN's rich history and contribute to the Nation's sustainability.

  • KLB Consulting hosted a Youth Entrepreneurship training program in collaboration with the Chippewas of the Thames Justice Department. This six-week course offered participants the opportunity to learn from industry experts and culminated in the inaugural “Bear’s Lair” competition, where young entrepreneurs could showcase their business ideas and gain valuable experience.

  • KLB Consulting hosted experiential tourism training for community members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. This program provided hands-on learning experiences to help participants develop skills in creating and managing immersive tourism experiences.
